A loss is a loss...

I'm not sure where or how to start this post... So I will just start with the news.

We lost our baby yesterday, at 11 weeks and 2 days.

We are sad. And emotional. And we miss our baby.

I have fed, loved, planned, and prayed for this baby everyday for the past (almost) 3 months and it's hard to know that he is no longer growing in there. BUT we are greatful that he is with our Jesus and that we will see him again! He has other brothers/sisters with him there and I know that my babies, and all the other babies taken home early, are perfect, happy, and healthy there!

In the past 24 hours we have had an OUTPOURING of love from friends, family, and our sweet midwife. They have offered their love, prayers, to take our kids for the day, and anything else they can do to help! I am so greatful for the support and can feel the Holy Spirit healing our hearts like only he can. Abigail is doing ok (she is recovering from strep throat, but emotionally is doing good.) Jaxon has been the sweetest, most snugly baby boy, and doesn't want to leave my side. In fact, he is laying with his head on my lap as I type this, pretty uncharecteristic! I think he senses something isn't quite right, and wants to take care of his mommy, and I am loving it :)

I don't regret telling everyone early, because I know that I did everything in my power to have this child covered in prayer by most everyone that we know. I have no what ifs, only peace in knowing that my God works all things together for good, and faith in his perfect plan and perfect timing for our lives. We feel confident that we will be blessed with a healthy baby and pregnancy soon!

“My grace is suffienct for you, my power is made perfect in your weakness.”

10 weeks!

Finally there is a little bit of a bump to document!

How big is baby this week? The size of a prune

Due Date: June 28th, 2012
Weight Gain: Do we have to talk about that? We just hit the 3.5 lb mark...which is strange because obviously a prune doesn't way 3.5 lbs. I can think of a couple of other places that weight might be going.

Symptoms: Today and yesterday my nausea has been pretty infrequent, which is a nice change.

Cravings: Lots of fruit. And grits in the morning, yummm.

I am loving: Seeing a little bump! He's in there somewhere!

Sleep: Ehh, ok. I wake up at least 4 times a night but when I'm asleep I am out cold, so that's good news!

I miss: Being able to go into Abbie's room. The smell of the paint plus all of her little girly perfumes have kept me and my nausea out of there for weeks now. We moved prayer time to Mommy and Daddy's room, which is actually kind of nice!

I am looking forward to: My midwife appointment tomorrow! And this bump getting bigger so it's more obviously a baby bump and less likely perceived as a beer belly.

I'm spazzing about: Being able to go into labor w/out induction this time. I'm afraid my body doesn't know how!

Best thing about this week: My baby boy turned 3 yesterday, and my love was off work to celebrate with us!

Milestones: All vital organs are fully developed! Pretty big accomplishment!

Movement: Not yet, maybe in a few weeks. That would be a PERFECT Christmas gift!

It's a...:  ?

Exercise: We walk every day to pick Abbie up from school, but after today's sermon on gluttony and making our body a temple for the Lord, I will be trying to get some more movement in!

Diet: Lots of fruits, and cheese. I went through a peanut butter and beef jerky phase a few weeks ago and now  that sounds disgusting. So we will see how long fruits and cheese lasts!

Other goals: Just remembering that this baby is the Lords, not my own. He is in his hands, and not mine! Repeating this to myself, about every 5 minutes, when worries and fears start creeping in.

Turkey Day and decking the halls

Thanksgiving was over a week ago, and I've yet to post pictures from it, sorry!

And while on the topic of me letting the blog world down (or my Grandma and a few FB friends who read this...) I am SO tired and nauseous from little peanut, that I don't really feel like doing a full out blog post.

Hopefully you will settle for a picture post!

We made our Turkey shirts on Wednesday night, so they would be dry and ready for the big day. They turned out cute enough, but the kids had a blast getting to put paint on their hands/feet.

Obviously Jaxon's didn't turn out perfectly :)

We spent most of Thursday morning cooking and waiting for family to arrive, the kids couldn't wait to see their Nana, Nannee, and Pee-pa!

Jaxon entertained the crowd with knock-knock jokes and puzzles while they waited on the food

I was so busy with the turkey, I didn't take any pictures of it, but I promise it was pretty! We loved having family here through Saturday and were so sad to say goodbye!

We also decorated the Christmas tree, which actually happened before Thanksgiving due to Michael's crazy work schedule, but lets just pretend we did it the right way and it happened the day after Thanksgiving like it should.

In true Christmas tradition, I forced everyone into their Christmas Jammies, made hot chocolate, and put on the Michael Buble Christmas pandora station. Perfection.

I guess his Christmas Jammies were just too much for him.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and are gearing up for Christmas too!

Celebration

We decided a few months ago that we would re-do Abbie's bedroom for her birthday. When we moved in, there wasn't much to it, and what better time to get a big girl bedroom than on your 7th birthday? She is really leaving that little girl stage and heading into big kid territory. Not so sure how I feel about this, pretty sure she will be getting her drivers license next week.

Anyhow, here is the terribly drab (and messy and partially disassembled) before picture.

Who can keep a boring room clean anyway? Not these girls.

Anyhow, Michael and I put the kids to bed, and put Abbie to bed in our room while we got to work painting, assembling, decorating (ok, that was mostly me) and getting the room put together.

We have a very professional style of painting.

Obviously.

Anyhow, when it was all said and done (around 3am!!) it looked pretty good!

Then Dad went and picked his girl up and carried her to bed, at nearly the exact same time (3:35 a.m.) that she came into our lives 7 years ago. It was so sweet.

Pretty much a recreation of this picture

Except, you know, she is about 10 times that size now.

When she woke up in her new bedroom the next morning, she was thrilled. I somehow didn't get any pictures of this. Must have been a mixture of baby brain, sleep deprivation, and a wave of emotion from my baby girl being 7!

Anyhow, we went for a donut date before school

Then later that day we went to her school for lunch, and met her with her favorite food, subway :)
(turkey, cheese, and black olives on whole wheat bread. A little strange, but she knows what she likes!)

After school, we went to the park, played with friends, ate some pizza and breadsticks, and ate some birthday cake

{The cake I made was top layer funfetti (which is what I usually make for birthday's around here) and bottom layer brownie, with eggless cookie dough in the middle. It was so good, but let me tell you, it was richer than I could handle! It ended up working out VERY nicely, but it somehow ruined the baby on most sweets and junk, and now the mere thought of  anything that's not mostly healthy makes me nauseous! It may sound like a bad thing, but I'm pumped, because the less I gain with the baby the less I have to lose when he/she arrives. Plus, I don't think cakes and cookies are going to help much in the fetal development department.}

Then came the birthday party, which was about 10 times the amount of work that I had anticipated. All worth it though, they had a blast!

Abbie's friend Makenna came over early, which worked out pretty well, it kept her entertained while I got everything hung up and situated.

Cute girls :)

When the rest arrived, it didn't take long for the party to start

They ran, played, sang, danced, decorated cupcakes, made their own pizzas, had their make-up done, opened presents, and just did what little girls do.

My AMAZING friend Becky came to help out, and let me tell you, if she wasn't here I might not have made it out alive! She was my extra set of hands and helped me keep my sanity. Thanks again Becky :)

Around 11pm I was really questioning my judgement. This preggo was tired and these little girls didn't want to sleep. They finally fell asleep, only to wake up at 6am! Yikes! But Dad came to the rescue with donuts to feed the masses before he headed off to work.

This is what we woke up to.

I guess a messy house is a sign of a good party?

We did fingernails, crafts, played outside, played inside, ran around, disturbed the neighbors, got them all sent home by 10am and even made it to the 10:45 service at church on time! This might be one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.

Not sure if we will invite the entire class again next year, I think we might do something a little smaller with a handful of her besties, but it sure was a fun experience she won't forget.
So happy that she had a good time, love you Princess!

My sunshine

You are my sunshine

My only sunshine

You make me happy

When skies are grey

You'll never know dear

How much I love you

So please don't take my sunshine away

Happy birthday Abigail Faith!
You amaze me daily at the kind, (so very) smart, loving, hilarious, gorgeous, Godly young woman that you are coming to be. I thank God for you every day and I always will.
Being your Mom has helped make me into the person I want to be.
Happy 7th birthday, and many many more, baby girl!

And you thought us moving was big news...

Psalm 127:3 "Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

June is always a very busy month for our family. Our wedding anniversary is on the 10th. Michael's birthday is the 21st (the big 3-0 this year!!) and his Mom's birthday is the 12th. Throw in fathers day and the beginning of summer, and that makes for one very busy month. But because we are such live-on-the-edge kind of folks...we decided to make June even more eventful this year.

We will be welcoming BABY #3 at the end of the month!

We are so excited to welcome this little blessing into our family, and can't wait to see his/her sweet little face!

Pumpkin time

This week, the kids and I met our friends Megan, Peyton, and Graham for some pumpkin patch fun.

This was no ordinary pumpkin patch, it was complete with petting zoo, goat food, tractor ride, all on top of picking your pumpkin. The kids loved it, and we were glad, because it was freezing. As soon as we got out there I just knew everyone was going to be crying for warmth, but they were all troopers and loved every second of it! The only one crying, wishing they were have brought their jacket, was me (duh) but don't worry...I survived.

They weren't too sure about letting the animals eat out of their hands at first, probably because most of them were covered in mud.

But it didn't take them long to warm up to the idea.

Then we were off to pick out the perfect pumpkin.
(say that 10x fast)

He found it.

And loved it.

and was VERY excited about it!

And She found hers.

And one for Peyton too!

And Peyton loved the pumpkin that Abbie picked for her!

And we found ours too!

Next, we were off to the tractor ride, for which they all sat so still and were so good for!

Graham obviously liked it too!

Ahh, sweet boy!

On our ride, we found some Jack-o-lantern hay bails

And Farmer Rick who they said had been missing for a long time, glad we found him!

We tried to take advantage of the little photo areas, but Jaxon couldn't roll his pumpkin to the spot that he wanted, in just the way that he wanted, because that is just the type of fun stage that he is in right now. And frankly, it was freezing and I was desperate to get my hands in front of a heater. As soon as this picture was snapped, we were out!

We had such a great time, totally worth cold hands! Next time we will come dressed more appropriately for the weather, and bring something other than our phones to take pictures! Thanks for inviting us, Burgess Family!
