Dust in the wind

Yesterday we said our final good-bye to Kindergarten

And what better way to do that than with a special good-bye breakfast?

She was pretty excited

I cannot believe how much my sweet  girl has grown in the past year.
This is her on her first day of school, and her with her little carpool buddy on the last day of school

Is it just me, or does she look a LOT older? She is basically an adult now. Ok, maybe not, but it feels like it.

They were both so excited to get on with their very last day of school, complete with games, movies, and popsicle parties.

On the way to school Abbie said "Kindergarten is just behind me now Mom...like dust in the wind"
Well ok then. If you've been around here long and know of her major western obsession, this should not surprise you.

Here she is with her sweet teacher, Mrs. Martin. I remember praying and praying last summer that God would give her to a teacher who would love her and treat her with kindness, and he did just that! Abigail loves her dearly, and will miss her 1st teacher!

After school, we headed over to Nikki's for a much needed cold treat, to combat the record breaking 106 temps...ick.

I found these cute print outs here

So yum.

When we got home, I had a little project that I found here, for her to complete, to add to her K scrapbook

Turned out pretty cute!

We finished off the day with BBQ, sprinklers, and Gnomeo and Juliet. I have no pictures to prove it, seeing as how Jax refuses to wear a bathing suit (or a swimmer for that matter) when we play outside in the water, but it was the perfect finish to a great last day of school.

Big little lady

Today was our last lunch date with our favorite little Kindergartner!

At 2:45 tomorrow, she will be a big 1st grade girl! I cannot believe these words as I type them.

She will have a locker in the hallway...
big kid desks instead of tables...
and no more nap time.

Make it stop please.

I better make a run to target to stock up on Kleenex now...I'm sure going to need them.

Phone findings

I was going through my phone looking at old pictures...and I just couldn't resist posting some of these sweet memories.

How did these babies grow up so fast?

Cutest Mavs fans ever.

'

Ohhhmygeeeze. Sweet angel.

Such a good big sister!

Yes...that is a dryer they are sitting in. What?

Daddy makes the best pony.

Ohh...my girl :)

Little baby bunny! I love May Farm!

So Fashionable.

Such a patient man, I married!

Wow.

I walked into the living room one day and found this. Never a boring day around here.

My loves.

For the record, this wasn't some weird punishment, she just thought it would be a blast to eat in the giant box. Not my idea of a good time, but she sure liked it.

"Super Abbie to the rescuuueee!"
That is what she yelled as she leaped around the room in her super Abbie costume.

 The big 5!

Making our usual "welcome home Daddy" sign

Not an old picture, but just look at all that cuteness! Even a the doctor's office.

Potty time

This is basically what the past thirty-six hours have looked like for us

Add in some juice, jelly beans, and LOTS of clean up, and that pretty much sums our last couple of days up.

Abigail potty trained dream-fully easy. She was 100% out of diapers/pull ups by her 2nd birthday, and never had any accident issues.

Jaxon is a little bit different...

He is really just in it for the jelly beans and the juice.

If I'm not watching him like a hawk, he makes little piddles like a puppy on the floor.
Today hasn't gone as well as yesterday, but maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
He has been staying dry through the night for over a year now, and loves his froggy potty, and knows the drill, he's just a stubborn little stinker!

We did the Dr. Phil potty doll idea, called his super-hero to tell him that he used the potty, said bye-bye to baby diapers and hello to big boy underwear. Any other ideas are gladly welcomed!!

Field trip fun

This last Friday was Abigail's last field trip of the school year, and her last field trip as a Kindergartner! It makes me want to cry just typing those words, but don't worry, I held it together the entire trip.

Anyhow...it was tons of fun!

It was pretty chaotic, seeing as how every school within a 100 mile radius decided to take their field trip the same day. We all helped her teacher perform routine head counts every 5 minutes to make sure we hadn't lost one, and thankfully made it out of there with the same number that we started with! There wasn't much time to get pictures of the kids in action, or space for that matter. Our school alone had over 200 students there, not to mention the other schools!

When we weren't busy taking group shots...I was tending to this guy, who was not happy that I wouldn't let him run ramped through the sidewalks.

Luckily, a new exhibit would come up, and things started to look up for this little guy.

Little stinker.

I didn't really spend any one on one time with my girl, but it was nice to be able to watch her interact with her friends, and get a peek into her little world

Sweet little friends.

We all had lots of fun, and I let Abbie ride the bus back to school, which apparently is a really big deal for kids that don't ride it home. A crowded, uncomfortable, but with no AC does NOT sound like my idea of a good time, but I suppose it's adventurous in kiddie land.
