incase you were unaware...it is freezing outside!
Our mall is actually closed today...which is the first time I have ever heard of this happening in all my (nearly) twenty-five years of wisdom.
Since we're not even considering getting out on the roads, we've been keeping pretty busy around here

Resting a badly sprained ankle that happened on the first day of vacation...
Board games (since there really isn't much else you can do with a bad ankle...poor guy)
We finally decided to go play in the snow. It took us 30 minutes to get a toddler, big girl, adult, and cripple bundled up enough to brave the cold
And after all that work, we only lasted about five minutes out there. But it was fun while it lasted!
And Daddy even decided to come out on crutches. What a trooper!
It was so cold with the wind blowing snow right in our faces. I much prefer to enjoy the snow from our window.
If the wind wasn't so painful I would LOVE to jump on the snowy trampoline! Maybe when it gets out of the single digits...
I plan on doing not much more than just snuggling with my babies by the fire and playing all day long. Especially with a 45 minute electricity blackout planned for our area...we will need to snuggle to stay warm!
I am so thankful for a roof over our heads to protect us from this weather, and am thinking about and praying for those who are stranded or homeless. There are about 200 people stranded at the greyhound bus station here...I can't imagine!

ReplyDeleteWell, we are managing to stay warm, the only time the power went out was early this morn, thank goodness we were all sleeping and snuggled warm in our beds! On the other hand Dylan had a friend stay the night last night (I only said ok b/c G had to go to the store so he was out driving yesterday anyways & I was pretty positive school would be cancel again today) and they keep begging to go outside, even Cbaby wants to go out there!!! They are all crazy I tell you!!! I do love the snow and ive been out playing in it the past two days, now I'm prolly gonna be sick :( Oh well it was worth it, it's not snowy like this all the time && the gounhog didn't see his shadow today so spring is coming early, gotta get this cold snowy weather enjoyment in before it's all gone and we are complaining about the summer heat haha! From the looks of your blog, y'all are enjoying this weather & being stuck indoors, but I do need you to come build me a fire haha, my wood is outside covered in snow, dang it!!!

ReplyDeleteOh no Mysti! I know I should have come help you build your "severe weather emergency kit" so you would have dry firewood in the garage, hahahha, It pays to have a crazy lady for a friend, I tell you!
ReplyDeleteLace, we have "cheap" snow boots but obviously the snow soaks through. We thought about getting the hardcore rubber toed ones but I couldn't see paying 25 dollars for something she would wear 1 day out of the year, and would be grown out of the next, you know? Looove you and wish I could send some of this snow your way! :)
