This post is definitely past due, but better late than never, right?
Daddy had a business meeting in Dallas at the beginning of the week, so instead of sitting at home by ourselves, we decided to take our own trip! We hit the road Tuesday morning, and met our good friends Natalie and Ella (oh...and the bun in the oven) at the Dallas World Aquarium. It was so much fun, I can't believe that we lived there for over a year and never went!
Good thing that it was so awesome...because we waited in line for 45 minutes to get in! Don't worry, we utilized our time well by forcing the kids to take pictures to pass the time.

Once we got in, we were all amazed! Not just at the hundreds of people there, (because believe me...there were hundreds and hundreds of people, shoulder to shoulder and stroller to stroller the entire time!) but at all the great animals and exhibits!
tiny baby stingray's...which Abbie fell in love with instantly saying they were "the cutest things evvveerrr"
"Dori" and "Nemo's Dad." Again, another favorite of my girl
Giant Manatees, which were the biggest things that I've ever seen that close up!
Huge Octopus
Cutest little penguin ever
And then there was the exhibit that I waited the e n t i r e t i m e to see..and believe me, it did not disappoint!
Sharrrrkksss!! They were huge...and scary...and there were a ton of them...and they were flipping awesome. We loved it!
The elevator from the second level was broken, but luckily the aquarium workers were nice enough to escort Jax down the stairs
Ha! Too funny.
It was a great time! Thanks Natalie and Ella for driving all the way to down town Dallas to come with us. And thanks for the awesome camera skills!

I won't bore you with the details of how my phone/GPS died as soon as we got out of the aquarium and we got totally lost for an hour and couldn't find my sister-in-law, Lena's, house (where we were staying) and ended up having to buy a car charger in a scary neighborhood so we could call for directions...
ahem....anyhow.
We were so excited to stay with family, because that means we got to see baby Mila and baby Lola!! My kids had a complete blast giving kisses and hugs and making faces at these girls all day long. I mean...really...all day long, they couldn't get enough!
I can't believe we were there 2 days and didn't snap one picture of those sweet little nieces of mine! But I did snag a slammin diaper deal that Lena heard about. EIGHT packs of diapers for 20 dollars!
2.50 a pack people. That is one awesome deal. Thanks Lena!

Michael was off the next two days after we came back home, and we spent the rest of our break just hanging out around the house and having fun. We had lots of back yard water races, sprinkler trampoline sessions, and anything else to keep cool in the high 80's weather we had.
We declared Thursday night "Cake for dinner" night, and it won me the "besetest Mom" award from both kids. Definitely a once in a blue moon kind of treat, and they loved it!
We ended our break by spending Saturday at Nannee and Pa's, which always brings out creativity in my kids. They are fascinated by things there that they wouldn't look twice at here at home.
gardening
horse back riding
rock collecting
new uses for soccer balls
embracing our inner tom-boy
Collecting tons of rolly pollies and naming each one of them.

It was a very exciting and adventurous week...as you can see by the excessive amount of pictures! Hope you're spring break was full of fun too!!
xoxo
