A week or so ago, Michael announced that one of his phone reps had given him tickets and a parking pass to see Elmo Live at the Verizon Theatre. My kids aren't huge Elmo fans (and neither am I...unless you count the fact that I got a tickle me-elmo for Christmas my 6th grade year...which I don't) but they like him enough to see him live, and figured it would be fun, anyhow!
I figured right. It was awesome! Maybe because I don't get out much, but I was amazed and sucked in by the lights and music. And nothing beats seeing these two munchkins with their eyes lit up!
(When I told Abigail about the tickets her response was "Well Mom, I'm not really an Elmo fan, but I'm sure Jaxon will like it, little kids like Elmo, so let's go." In case you didn't know, this is 7-year old code for "I think I'm supposed to be too old and too cool for Elmo, but I still want to to go." I can sympathize. I used to make fun of Barney with my friends everyday at school, then come home and watch it and sing along because I secretly loved him.)
Believe it or not, this is before the $15 worth of cotton candy...
And this, my friends, is afterwards. And he only ate half. Yikes.

We really did have so much fun. We met Michael halfway in Dallas at work, then all rode together towards the show. About 3/4 of the way there, I realized that I left the tickets in the console of the car that we drove their in. Fail. So we drove back (quickly!) to get them. And of course I was sure that we would be so late and interrupt the whole thing when we waltzed in 25 minutes late. Thankfully that wasn't the case, and we were one of 4 or so other families that couldn't seem to make it on time, and not to mention it was a ZOO in there. This is just one of 348 absent minded things that I've done in the past few weeks, including "loosing" my keys, only to find them in my car...still running...and showing up to the story time that I planned and hosted, at the wrong time. My brain is mush, but thankfully I have a pretty good reason, more on that later.
Have a great Wednesday!
