"Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
Acts 16:33
Abigail started asking about baptism somewhere around a year ago. She was saved well over a year ago and soon after was ready to make that profession public with baptism. We chose to wait until we felt the time was right, primarily because we wanted her to really grasp and be aware of what she was doing. And after a year of waiting, and her asking regularly, we felt the time was here!
Hallelujah!
By the way, it was outside, 48 degrees, dark, luke warm water, and down right freezing. What a trooper.
Poor girl was shivering and dripping wet, but she didn't mind. We headed inside to the bathroom to get her changed and with her teeth chattering like crazy, she said
"I'm sooooooo cold! But at least I got all my sins washed off me!"
Adorable, Maybe the proudest moment I've ever had of her.
We celebrated at her favorite, Blue Goose, per her request. And she wasn't the only one having a good time...
Our sweet friends Natalie and Jason, and their two angels Ella and Molly (littlest un-pictured, she passed out!) drove all the way out from West Fort Worth to witness and celebrate this special day with our family. Thank you guys so much for coming to be a part of it! Love you guys! And as always Nat, thanks for the pictures :)
She was baptized in her "New creation" T-shirt (I am borderline obsessed with her having "special" t-shirts to have a t-shirt quilt made her senior year, this occasion was no different) since we couldn't have her wet in her white dress, and we gave her a special cross necklace to keep always and remember this day forever!
I'm so thankful for her sweet spirit that so desires to be aligned with Jesus and his word. Thank you father!
