Big boys don't cry

There are so many things I could/should/would be doing right now (i.e. laundry, organizing my closet, wrapping Christmas presents, putting the p90x dvd collection to good use). Instead, I've chosen to lay in bed and eat the rest of the dark chocolate brownies from Thanksgiving, while piddling around on the computer. Seems like a much more logical thing to do.

One would think this would be a nice relaxing time while the kids nap...

and it would be...except  that we have decided that this week is THE WEEK...that we will say goodbye to our trusted night/nap time friend.

That's right folks. We are on round 5 of going to sleep w/out our beloved "Paci"

Believe me, Jax is not going down without a fight. That's just his nature. I can hear him in his crib right now whimpering "Paci! Paci!"

It is so sad :( But never fear, he has his beloved "blankie" and "fluffy" to get him  through this difficult time

fluffy is on the other side of him, we just can't see him!

My baby boy hasn't been a fan of change thus far, so it's no surprise that he's having a hard time adjusting to this new season in his little life. He will be two years old this Friday, and I fear that if we don't take it away by age two, then he will probably try and take it with him to college. I am  quite sure he already has plans to take fluffy and blankie away with him to school, but taking paci would just be too far. He only uses it at night time and at nap time, and I think that has helped make this transition somewhat easier.

I am sure he will get used to it soon. In the meantime, it's breaking my mommy heart to hear him being so sad.

So yes, that is why my relaxing Sunday nap time ritual is not so relaxing this Sunday. I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.

And I must say, the brownies helped me feel a little bit better :)
