After a long day of cooking/cleaning/eating on Thursday, I ventured out to hit the midnight sales at Walmart. I've never been the type of girl to pass up a good deal, but I've never been brave enough to take on the black Friday crowds. I figured it wouldn't be so bad, and that everyone probably over exaggerates about all the craziness.
I was wrong.
It was a madhouse!
I'm surprised I wasn't trampled by the mad-dealseaking-crazy people that only Walmart can bring. We had to abandon our basket at one point because there was literally no way to get through otherwise! If it wasn't for the awesome deal on the Shark Steam Mop that I've been wanting...and a certain someone mentioning that they wanted one for Christmas... (hopefully she isn't reading this) I wouldn't have bundled up and braved the crowds.

disclaimer: I made this picture so small, b/c this is a pretty embarrassing picture of me. I promise that I don't look like this in every day life, but it was WAY late and it had been a long day. Don't judge :)
I was so happy to get my mops, a crock pot for 9 dollars, a movie for my brother, and a few odds and ends for the kids stockings. Was it worth spending 1.5 hours in line? It probably wouldn't have been, but this lady came to keep me company
SO GLAD that she did, because I would have gone crazy waiting that long if I was alone! Plus I don't like to get out at night by myself, pretty scary. Thanks Mysti! She got the talking Buzz Lightyear for her baby boy, and saved a whopping 5 dollars on it. I think she was really there for moral support, haha. We went to Old Navy afterwards, but the line was to the back of the store and then some, so we just left! We didn't need fuzzy socks or 5 dollar comfy pants that bad.
I got home just in time to have about an hour of snuggle time, before Michael had to be up for work. 4am-4pm ... 12 straight hours of Best Buy madness.
I thought Jaxon might be sweet to his mommy and let me sleep in a little bit, but no such luck. 7:15 a.m. as usual. But that didn't stop me from doing a little downtown shopping with my Mom, Grandma, and the kids.
I'm happy to have about half of our Christmas shopping done now! We have 19 family members to buy for each year. (No, that was not a typo...Michael has a very large family!) So with the family, combined with my 2 Secret Santa's this year...I have about half of the shopping done. This is quite the accomplishment! Good thing I start in August :)
I guess I'll get back to watching Alvin and the Chipmunks with the kids while we wait for Daddy to get home from work. I could go use the mop that I stood in line f o r e v e r for, but I'd rather watch a movie with them instead :)
I hope you all had a great weekend of shopping, family, and fun!
